Mantram Art Foundation is a non profit organization actively involved in promoting Contemporary Indian Art. The vision of Mantram is perhaps best embodied by its motif - a creative rendition of Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles interpreted in the avatar of M for Mantram Art Foundation. Mantram has a vision that is simple yet deep; to touch the lives of as many people as is possible through the medium of Art. This larger vision is the umbrella under which more specific objectives have been formulated. These are as diverse as creating an artists village, to creating a forum for the exchange of ideas on Art itself. In addition, regular events are planned to actively promote artists and their art through lectures, camps, talks, workshops and presentations. In 1997, Mantram was started by a group of individuals, who found their lives inextricably intertwined with Art. Jija Madhavan Hari Singh, the founder president is presently Chief Vigilance Officer with the Airports Authority of India, who finds her true calling in art and it is this drive that led to the creation of Mantram through which she hopes to further the cause of artists, society at large and that of art itself. |
